What Are Workforce Centers? The Workforce Centers in Kansas Local Area II are a single point of entry to a network of employment, training, and educational programs and provides in Northeast Kansas. The mission of the Workforce Centers in Kansas Local Area II is to promote economic prosperity and self-sufficiency of individuals and families by creating a workforce which is competitive in the global marketplace. Workforce Centers in Northeast Kansas are a collaborative effort, with full participation of business, labor, state and local government and employment and training professionals. The Centers help employers find skilled workers and help career seekers access the tools needed to manage their careers through high quality information and services. They are open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to the general public and offer primarily free services for job seekers and employers. Employers and career seekers are welcome to utilize fully equipped resource areas within the Centers and will have access to KansasWorks. KansasWorks is the State of Kansas administered internet source for job listings, to find qualified employees, check the availability of jobs, or obtain information.
