Employer Customized Training
An excellent way to develop a supply of trained employees is to implement a specialized training program that assures a group of prospects all have received the proper preparation. Heartland Works’ Customized Training Programs can help you fill this need.
The Basics
Heartland Works can custom develop a short-term training program for either a specific employer or a specific group of eligible job seekers that will address training needs.
Training will focus on the marketable skills that employers desire in potential employees. Employment and Training Specialists can meet with an employer to discuss what specific needs they have for their workforce.
A tailor-made program will then be designed to train job-ready individuals so they can meet the needs of a specific employer or group of employers in the community. Eligibility requirements apply for employer customized training programs.
More Customized Training Information
Customized training is designed to meet the particular requirements of an employer, with a commitment by the employer to employ, or in the case of incumbent workers, continue to employ, an individual upon successful completion of the training. The employer is required to pay for at least 50 percent of the cost of training.
Employer customized training of an eligible employed individual may be provided for an employer when the employee is not earning a self-sufficient wage, as determined by Heartland Works policy. The customized training must relate to the introduction of new technologies, introduction to new production or service procedures, upgrading to new jobs, that require additional skills, workplace literacy, or other appropriate purposes identified by the Heartland Works.
